How we check UK casino operators
The short version
We take the licence from the Gambling Commission public register, the company from its own register and from the terms of its sites, and every fact carries the date it was read. The results are on our operator pages, which start from the A to Z list of operators.
Our team tests the casinos and checks every fact on a page before it is published.
The licence, from the Gambling Commission register
The Gambling Commission licenses and regulates gambling businesses in Great Britain, and it keeps a public register of the businesses it licenses. For each operator we read the account the licence sits under, its status, the licensed activities with their start dates, the domain names and any regulatory actions, as the register lists them.
On licence details we add nothing to what the register says. Where it lists a regulatory action, the operator's page records it: the page for ProgressPlay casinos, for example, carries the £1,000,000 fine of May 2025.
The company, from its register and its sites' terms
For the company, we take its registration and address from the register it sits on: the Malta Gaming Authority licensee register, the Cyprus Department of Registrar of Companies, the Companies Registration Office Ireland (open data), the Alderney Gambling Control Commission licensee list, the Gibraltar Gambling Division licence holder list, or a Companies House search, depending on where the company is based.
Where no register we could read lists the company, we use the terms that at least two of its sites print, and the page says so. The page for Anakatech casinos is an example: it gives its company as its brands' terms name it and says it was not found on a public register we could read.
Where two sources name different companies or addresses, the page shows both and says which one the brands name.
Counting an operator's sites
The register also shows a count of an operator's sites, and we do not use it. We count the domains in the register's own list: active, inactive and white label, each separately.
White label domains are given as counts only, with no brand names. The Jumpman Gaming sites page, for example, names its 19 active sites and gives 133 white label domains as a number.
Inactive domains are counted the same way: the Grace Media casinos page counts four active sites and 57 inactive domains.
Every fact has a date
Each page we use is read on a date, and that date is shown at the top of the article.
For the operator pages, the reads run from 27 September 2026 to 1 October 2026: the Gambling Commission register was read on 27 and 28 September, the company registers and the brands' terms on 28 September, and the brands' own pages from 28 September to 1 October 2026.
What we leave out
Companies that merely share a name or an address are not described as related here. We state a connection only when a register or a site's own terms state it.
Our meaning of sister sites is narrow: sites with the same operator or owner, where their own terms say so. Holding the same Gambling Commission licence is not enough to make two sites sisters.
Bonus size plays no part in how anything is ordered.
If you think we are wrong
When a fact turns out to be wrong, we go back to the register or the site's own page, read it again and replace our figure, showing the new date.
The site has no contact address yet, so there is no address to send a correction to.
