Playbook Gaming Limited no longer holds a UK licence. Gambling Commission account 50122 is Surrendered, and none of the 7 domains the register lists for it is active. The Commission sanctioned the company on 10 November 2025, nine days before every activity ended on 19 November 2025. Companies House still shows the company as Active, which is a record of the company and not of a licence. Our team checked each of these facts against the register and Companies House.
What happened to Playbook Gaming?
On 10 November 2025 the Gambling Commission recorded a sanction against Playbook Gaming Limited: a financial penalty of £250,000 and a warning, the warning imposed under section 117 (1)(a) of the Gambling Act 2005. The Commission acted after a review of the operating licence. It found that between August 2023 and August 2024 the company:
- breached paragraphs 2 and 3 of licence condition 12.1.1, on the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing;
- failed to comply with paragraphs 1, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 12 of Social Responsibility Code Provision 3.4.3, on customer interaction;
- failed to comply with paragraphs 1 and 2 of Social Responsibility Code Provision 3.9.1, on the identification of individual customers, remote.
The register says the Commission acted in line with its licensing, compliance and enforcement policy statement, the indicative sanctions guidance and the statement of principles for determining financial penalties. It also says the company co-operated with the Commission throughout the investigation. This is the only regulatory action the register lists for the account.
On 19 November 2025 every licensed activity under the account ended, each marked Surrendered. The register does not say that the sanction caused the surrender, and this page does not say so either: it gives the two dates and leaves the reason open.
